Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU baseball team honored seven athletes as part of Senior Day on Saturday afternoon before taking on Coppin State. This group's accomplishments have included two NEC championships, one regular season championship, and amassing 119 wins (over a four year period) heading into this weekend's games.
The players recognized for their achievements and special contributions included:
Jack Power: A four-year member of the LIU baseball team, Jack was named to the All-NEC Second Team in 2024, and has garnered NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, Prime Performer, and Rookie of the Week honors throughout his tenure.
Benjamin Fierenzi: A hero on last season's NEC Championship team, Benjamin was named to the All-NEC Tournament team, and additionally earned Second-Team All-NEC honors in 2024.
RJ Latkowski: A four-year member of LIU baseball, RJ has made the NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll multiple times and has struck out 76 batters in just over 68 innings heading into this weekend's competition over his tenure.
Jacob Pipercic: A member of last season's NEC Championship winning team, Jacob is ranked second in both triples (5) and stolen bases (25) in the NEC heading into this weekend's games.
Noah Tabaie: A strong pitcher for LIU, Noah's prowess has included a stretch of five consecutive scoreless outings during the 2024 season.
Luke Olsen: Luke's accomplishments include being named to the NEC Spring Honor Roll in 2024.
Max Samson: Throughout his tenure with LIU, Max has earned NEC Prime Performer honors and owns a .318 batting average.
LIU fell to Coppin State by a score 5-3 in game two of their doubleheader and will return to the field on Sunday, May 11 at 12 p.m. to close out the series.
