CLEVELAND, OHIO — Ben McIsaac and
Mark Regan each scored three goals in LIU's 15-7 win in the Sharks' first-ever meeting against Cleveland State, improving to 3-2 in NEC play.
McIsaac scored the game's first goal, and Regan also found the back of the net in the opening quarter as LIU pulled ahead to a 4-0 lead.
The Sharks (8-3, 3-2) would take a 7-2 lead into halftime and capped off a seven-goal unanswered rally that started in the final minutes of the second quarter, pulling ahead 12-2 by the final minutes of the third quarter.
Regan (3 goals, 1 assist) and Aiden Zuhoski (2 goals, 2 assists) each finished the game with four points.
Cameron Connolly buried a pair of goals, while
Nicholas Kasica,
Dan Cosentino,
Nick Colantonio,
Luke Harris, and
Drew Togno also scored to help LIU earn its eighth win of the season.
Goalkeeper
Tyler Gresh got the start for LIU and earned his first win of the season, producing a stellar 14-save performance in 60 minutes of action.
Shaun Hill went 12-for-23 in the faceoff circle.
LIU returns to Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium on Saturday for its Senior Day matchup against Le Moyne at 2 p.m.
