BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Ava Taylor scored a game-high five goals for the second straight game as the LIU women's lacrosse team rolled past Central Connecticut State 16-2 on Wednesday afternoon.
Taylor scored three straight goals to give the Sharks a 4-0 lead. She added her fifth goal 1:42 before halftime to put LIU ahead 10-0.
Selia Lyons had a six-point day, scoring two goals and registering four assists.
Julia Trainor continued her strong play, recording two goals and two assists. Trainor also scooped up a game-high seven ground balls.
LIU finished the day with a game-high 16 ground balls.
Samantha Dickerson and
Lindsey Lucia each scored two goals to help secure LIU's seventh win of the season.
Ally Taranto dominated the draw circle, winning nine draw controls and adding an assist.
LIU (7-6, 5-1 NEC) returns to action Saturday, hosting Stonehill at noon.
