BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Junior middle blocker Isaac Benka of the Long Island University men's volleyball team was named as a Northeast Conference Prime Performer on Monday after excelling in recent matches.

"Isaac has been working his tail off this season and it's paying off," LIU men's volleyball Head Coach Justin Beaumont said. "Even though he isn't where he wants to be, I'm happy for the big fella getting recognized amongst the conference best."

Against Fairleigh Dickinson University on Friday, Benka recorded six kills, one service ace, 11 total blocks and three digs in a 3-1 defeat of the Knights. In Saturday's road match against the Knights, Benka finished the game with seven kills with a 70% attack percentage, one assist, a 95.8% serving percentage, one dig and four total blocks.

It's Benka's second Prime Performer award of the season, having previously earned the same honor on March 11, where he totaled 13 total blocks in a 3-0 week for the Sharks.

LIU returns to the court Friday night for an NEC match against Daemen, beginning at 7 p.m.
