BROOKLYN, N.Y. — LIU came away with a win for the ages on Thursday night, defeating Wagner 80-79 in triple-overtime.
This was a game where the term "instant classic" comes to mind, with the Sharks' 80 points representing a season-high and LIU outrebounding its opponent while pulling down a season-high 48 rebounds as well.
Of course, any instant classic is headlined by heroes and this one had quite a few.
Sirviva Legions led the way with 23 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. She led the Sharks in every aforementioned category, all while logging her first double-double of the campaign. If that weren't enough, Legions emerged to put the hero cape on when things mattered most, sinking the game-winning bucket with four seconds left.

Brianna Mead bested her own mark just one game later, scoring 22 points on 6 of 13 shooting from the field and made a season-high 5 shots from three-point range. She was additionally a perfect 5 of 5 from the free-throw line, also a season-high.
Racky Kane provided a big defensive boost off the bench, coming up with 6 of LIU's season-high 10 blocks. She also logged 6 points and 2 steals.
This was a come-from-behind victory for the Sharks, who trailed by eight at halftime. Showing grit and determination, LIU erased that deficit completely by outscoring Wagner by eight in the third quarter. The two sides battled it out through the final quarter of regulation and three overtimes before the Sharks were able to rise up for the win.
LIU will hit the hardwood again this Saturday, Feb. 8 when it visits Stonehill at 2 p.m.
