LIU Football Announces 2025 Schedule

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Long Island University football team announced its 2025 schedule on Wednesday afternoon and season tickets for LIU home games are now available for purchase. Fans can secure their seats for all four home games at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium here

LIU opens the season on Saturday, Aug. 30, at the University of Florida, marking the first time a Northeast Conference football team has ever played against a team from the Southeastern Conference. The FBS portion of the schedule concludes the following week with a trip to Eastern Michigan University (Sept. 6), where Ron Cooper's head coaching career began in 1993.

On Sept. 13, LIU will host former NEC foe Sacred Heart University in its home opener, marking the second-consecutive non-conference game between the two schools and the return trip of last season's penultimate game. Other home games include conference matchups with Robert Morris University (Oct. 18), Duquesne University (Nov. 8), and Wagner College (Nov. 22).

The remaining road games are a non-conference meeting with the University of Rhode Island (Sept. 20), and conference meetings with Mercyhurst University (Oct. 4), Stonehill College (Oct. 11), Central Connecticut State University (Nov. 1), and Saint Francis University (Nov. 15).

"We're excited about the 2025 schedule," said Cooper. "We open at Florida in Gainesville, which will be a great experience for our team against an SEC program. Our non-conference schedule is challenging, but we accept the challenge.

"With an open week before we start conference play, we look forward to competing for the NEC championship in our final seven games. We have four great home games that our students and fans will enjoy!"

The Sharks finished last season on a high note, winning three of their final four games to post a fourth-place finish in the NEC. In 2025, the Sharks return 14 starters (6 offense, 8 defense) and two specialists, including three all-conference players: quarterback Ethan Greenwood, offensive lineman Moshood Giwa, and linebacker DQ Watkins. Cooper enters for his fourth season at LIU in 2025.

Tickets for individual home games will go on sale at a later date. Kickoff times and broadcast coverage for all games will also be announced at a later date.
