BOSTON — The Long Island University women's basketball team (1-0, 0-0 NEC) tipped off the 2025-26 season on Monday evening, going on the road and defeating Northeastern University 75-60.
"Really proud of our team, hard-fought road win to start the year," head coach Neil Harrow said. "Lots of work to do, but that's normal this time of year. Really happy to come up here and get this win against an improved Northeastern."

The Sharks led by 15 entering the fourth quarter, though the Huskies managed to cut the lead to 10 points twice in the final frame; however, two late three-pointers by sophomore Laura Molnarova helped to extend the LIU lead, eventually leaving Boston with a 75-60 victory.
Following Toure's 26 points was Molnarova with 12 points and nine points from junior Janessa Williams. Toure recorded a team-high 10 rebounds, while senior Isabella Tañedo assisted on five baskets.
