BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Keely Thomas has been named NEC Defensive Player of the Week, marking the second time she's earned the honor this season.
The redshirt-junior led the Sharks to a 1-0-1 record this past week, providing a strong presence in goal throughout. Thomas had a season-high ten saves in LIU's 2-1 win over Stonehill on Oct. 2. This was not only her team's third win in a row, but the fifth of the season – helping the Sharks match their overall wins total from 2024.
Thomas then had five more saves in LIU's 1-1 tie with Chicago State on Oct. 5, improving LIU's conference record to a still undefeated 3-0-2 thus far.
The Sharks will return to the field on Thursday, Oct. 9, hosting New Haven at 11 a.m.
