BROOKVILLE, N.Y. —The LIU football team is set to make its debut on the YES Network (Yankee Entertainment and Sports Network) — the nation's leading regional sports network — during its week 9 home game against Central Connecticut State on Oct. 26.
This marks the first time the Northeast Conference has added regional network coverage for football. In addition to the YES Network, fans can also catch the Sharks on ESPN+, NEC Front Row, SportsNet Pittsburgh+, and NESN 360 on Oct. 26.
Former NFL assistant coach Kevin Gilbride, best known for his tenure as the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants, will be on the call for LIU's matchup against CCSU.
Gilbride was instrumental in the Giants' success, contributing to their victories in Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI. His expertise in offensive strategy and collaboration with quarterback Eli Manning defined his time with the Giants.
LIU opens its season Aug. 31 at UAlbany and plays its first home game of the season at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium on Sept. 14 against Lehigh.
