FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The LIU men's volleyball team traveled to Sacred Heart for its penultimate game of the season on Friday night.
The first set was back and forth with the Pioneers jumping out to an early lead. A kill from
Kale Spencer and miscues from Sacred Heart would tie the match up and put the Sharks in the driver's seat for the rest of the set. It was a grind but they pulled out a 26-24 set win on a Spencer kill.
From there, it was all LIU for the rest of the match. The Sharks would pull away late in both the second and third sets, securing their tenth straight win (26-24, 25-18, 25-21).
Spencer lead the teams in kills with 13, followed by
Livan Moreno with 11 and
Chase Celichowski with nine.
Kasey Clouet had a team-high four blocks.
Roei Horovitz led LIU in assists with 20, followed by
Jack Sarnowski's 14.
Moreno had a team-high five digs while
Alex Weinhaus and
Roei Horovitz each had four.
The Sharks return to the court for their last game of the season at Merrimack on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
