WEST WINDSOR, N.J. — The LIU women's tennis team clinched its second consecutive NEC Championship on Sunday with a 4-2 victory over FDU at the Mercer County Tennis Center.
LIU finished the tournament with a 3-0 record, securing wins against Stonehill 4-0 and Saint Francis 4-3 before clinching the title against FDU in the finals, 4-2.
Leo Boisseau and
Lucy Garrigues, the top doubles pair for LIU, secured a 6-1 win. Following their lead,
Saki Oyama and
Kate Jorjoliani won 6-3.
Clara Tardivel and
Mia Tsoukalas completed the doubles success with a 5-3 win.
LIU dominated in singles, with Boisseau, Saki, and
Clara Tardivel picking up wins for the Sharks.
LIU will next compete in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
