PROVIDENCE R.I. — The members of the LIU women's water polo team will return home to Brooklyn with their heads held high as they went undefeated in the Bruno Classic over the weekend.
The Sharks not only went undefeated, but they made quick work of each of their opponents. On Saturday LIU defeated Bucknell 18-4 and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 16-9. The next morning on Sunday it took care of business against Salem 22-6 and then beat Saint Francis U 18-10.
Paola Dominguez-Castro had a fantastic weekend, scoring a team-high 19 goals in four matches. She recorded three five-goal performances.
Sydney deVroedt scored the second most goals for the Sharks with 13, 
Elena Camarena scored 12, followed by 
Emma Sardo who scored seven.
Toriana Thind scored her first two goals of the season against Bucknell.
The Sharks return to the pool on Saturday when they travel to Erie, Pa. to take on Mercyhurst in their first match of the Curtis Robinette Memorial Invitational.
