GENEVA, Ohio — This weekend the LIU swim teams wrapped up their seasons at the NEC Championships. There were many impressive performances including the five Sharks that won gold.
Emilio Garcia was victorious in two events. Winning the 100-yard freestyle in 45.09 and the 200-yard freestyle in 1:38.80.
Dani Chocano Fernández was victorious in the 400-yard IM with a time of 3:58.95. He also won silver in the 200-yard IM with a 1:49.73.
Alejandro Pascual Del Cid won the 50-yard freestyle in 20.42.
Benny Karlsson was the winner of the 200-yard butterfly with a 1:50.06. He also won bronze in the 100-yard backstroke (48.93) and 200-yard backstroke (1:48.17).
Allie Bashor won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.66.
Mariajose Lopez Lizarraga earned silver in the 1650-yard freestyle with a 17:11.12.
Giannis Venetos won silver in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:01.03) and bronze in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.41).
Stephen Taylor won bronze in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time od 2:01.71.
Venetos, Karlsson, Pascual Del Cid, and Garcia won silver in the 400-yard medley relay with a 3:17.32.
Garcia, Pascual Del Cid, Chocano Fernández and Marcell Matyiko won silver in the 800-yard freestyle relay in 6:43.39.
The team of Karlsson, Pascual Del Cid, Venetos and
Ethan Law won silver in the 200-yard medley relay with a 1:28.79.
