ISLIP, N.Y. — The LIU equestrian team successfully started the spring season on Sunday in a competition hosted by Adelphi University.
To start the day, in open fences,
Anna Perlow took the win,
Sam Koeppel took fourth and
Paige Mather took fifth.
In intermediate fences,
Shelby McKie took second,
Peyton LaFrenz took third and
Bianca Törnecrantz took fourth.
In limit fences,
Megan Rodier won,
Rebecca Kats took second,
Lizette Kelly took third,
Samantha Capuano took fourth, and
Tori Cohen and
Brooke Keen took fifth.
During the second part of the day, Perlow and
Alyssa Baychuk took wins in open flat, with Koeppel second and LaFrenz fourth.
In intermediate flat, Törnecrantz and
Alyssa Buback took third, Jules Tag took fourth and
Lizette Kelly took sixth.
In limit flat, Kats, Kathryn Gargiulio and
Emily Lonegro took wins,
Abigail Clarke took second,
Ally Perticone took third,
Sarah Daniels took fourth and
Erin Gutzeit took sixth.
In novice,
Savannah Negron took second,
Sam Kauhaus took third,
Natalie Farina took fifth and
Olivia Korzep took sixth.
In Pre-Novice,
Amanda Esposito won.
The Sharks ended the day as the high-point team. They and make their next appearance next Sunday at Pratt in Queens.
