Lowell, M.A. — The Sharks faced a tough battle on the road, losing to UMass Lowell 69-62 on Wednesday night.
Despite falling behind by double-digits after the first half (by a score of 36-25), the Sharks made several pushes to close the gap and get back into the game. The team went on a 6-0 run to cut its deficit to just one, trailing 42-41 with 14:14 left in the second half, and then went on to tie the game at 58 apiece with 4:01 remaining thanks to a subsequent 7-0 run. UMass Lowell pulled away thereafter to secure the win.
LIU was led by
Malachi Davis, who had 16 points and 3 steals.
Jamal Fuller also added 14 points in the contest.
The Sharks will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 14, visiting Missouri at 12 p.m.
