SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The LIU men's soccer team closed out its regular season on a high note.
The Sharks powered past Le Moyne with a 2-1 win in a Thursday night matchup in Syracuse, rallying with two quick goals in the second half.
Christian Blank evened the score with his first-career goal at the 62-minute mark, and just four minutes later,
Jesper Mikkelsen netted the game-winner, securing LIU's second consecutive win, in their regular-season finale.
No. 3 LIU will now head to the NEC Tournament for the sixth consecutive year and will play at No. 2 Saint Francis on Nov. 14.
The Sharks will be aiming for back-to-back NEC titles, following last season's 1-0 win over Sacred Heart, which earned them a berth in the NCAA Tournament against Denver.
The Sharks tied Saint Francis 1-1, in their lone match up against the Red Flash, at the LIU Soccer Park on Oct. 6.
Fans can watch the Sharks in the opening round of the NEC Tournament on NEC Front Row.
