BROOKLYN, N.Y. — After leading LIU to back-to-back 3-1 victories over Mercyhurst last week,
Camelia Melendez has been named NEC Player of the Week.
The senior tallied 37 kills through the two wins, including 19 – her third-highest mark of the campaign – on Nov. 1.
"Camelia had a great weekend offensively and led the way for us in kills and aces," head coach
Amable Martinez said. "She has been working on being consistent and it is paying off!"
Following the two wins against Mercyhurst, Melendez and the Sharks are now winners of eight straight, with an overall conference record of 7-3.
LIU will return home to host UAlbany on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.
