BROOKLYN, N.Y. — After leading LIU to a 2-1 week, Alasha Colon and Bella Correia have garnered special honors.

Conversely, Correia has won once again earned NEC Rookie of the Week award honors, after receiving such recognition three times in October. The freshman had 34 kills through three games, including a season-high 17 in the aforementioned Nov. 8 victory over FDU.

Sharks head coach Amable Martinez went on to praise the duo's contributions to the team's recent success. "Bella has made such an impact for our team since returning from injury and continues to work extremely hard to improve day in and day out. So proud of the success she is having thus far," he said. "Alasha has been a staple of our defense all year. She keeps being herself and proving herself to be one of the best defenders in the conference.
