Erie, PA — With a 3-1 victory over Mercyhurst on Friday night, LIU won its seventh straight game and improved to 6-3 in NEC play.
The Sharks' tenth win of the campaign was headlined by a couple of rather emphatic performances.
Camelia Melendez led the way offensively with 19 kills, marking her third-highest tally of the season.
Alasha Colon helped LIU hold things down defensively with 25 digs. This was the fourth time this season Colon has tallied at least 25 digs in a contest.
Iremnur Elmas also contributed 12 kills, reaching double-digits for the fourth time this season.
LIU will look to keep the momentum going as the women's volleyball team goes for its eighth win in a row, taking on Mercyhurst yet again on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m.
