NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — The 2024 Northeast Conference Championships are set for Friday, Nov. 1, at Stanley Quarter Park. The women's 5K race will begin at 11 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 8K at noon.
The LIU Sharks are entering the championships after a strong performance at the ECAC/IC4A Championships. Sophomore Hasnae Goulamzi recorded a personal best of 21:13.7, finishing sixth.
Ally Carillo also heads into the NEC Championships with a personal best recorded two weeks prior.
"On our women's side, I believe that Hasnae is going to put up quite the fight for a top-eight finish," said LIU cross country coach Stormie Charles.
For the men's team, Robby Levy, Perry Balsamo, and Ryan Bailor are also entering the NEC Championships after achieving personal bests at the IC4A on Oct. 18.
"Even with two of our top guys injured, I am anticipating that our men will have a very strong finish with Robby Levy leading," Charles added.
The 2024 Northeast Conference Championships are being hosted by Central Connecticut State University and will air live on NEC Front Row.
