BROOKLYN, N.Y. — LIU women's volleyball continued rolling with its fourth straight win on Wednesday night.
"We're just getting into a rhythm. I think our team is doing a better job defensively and actually with our serve, we're putting ourselves in good situations," head coach
Amable Martinez said following the win.
The 3-0 shutout was the third in four games for the Sharks and the team's fourth overall shutout of the campaign. LIU was led by freshman
Bella Correia, who is fresh off winning back-to-back NEC Rookie of the Week awards.
"She's been improving every day. She works hard at her craft on both sides of the ball, offensively and defensively and it obviously shows," Martinez added. "That was a piece we were missing for most of the season, and we're really glad to have her back."
Correia tallied 11 kills, marking the fifth time this season she's reached double-digit kills. Senior
Camelia Melendez added 10 kills in the victory as well.
The Sharks will look to make it five straight wins when the team battles Le Moyne on Friday, Oct. 25 at 6.p.m.
