BROOKLYN, N.Y. — For the second straight week and the third time overall this season, LIU women's volleyball standout
Bella Correia has been named NEC Rookie of the Week.
Correia continued to shine while leading the Sharks to a 3-0 record on the road last week, featuring two shutout wins. She turned in a season-high 15 kills in LIU's win over Stonehill on Oct. 19, besting her previous high of 11 set on Oct. 11.
The freshman totaled 29 kills and 10 spikes through her team's three contests last week.
"Bella has been working extremely hard to get back on the court. So happy to see her succeed in her first two weeks back," LIU women's volleyball head coach
Amable Martinez said. "The sky is the limit for her!"
Correia and the Sharks will go for their fourth straight win on Wednesday, Oct. 23 when the team hosts Manhattan at 6 p.m.
