BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Keely Thomas has repeated as the NEC Rookie of the Week.
Thomas, a redshirt freshman goalkeeper from Richmond, Va., stopped a first-half penalty kick on Sunday and made a career-high six saves in an eventual 1-0 loss to UMBC that halted the LIU women's soccer team's winning streak.
Thomas began her collegiate career with 191 minutes, 28 seconds of scoreless play.
She previously had produced shutout victories at Saint Peter's and Rider.
Thomas also was recognized for the second straight week as an NEC Prime Performer.
LIU (2-1) returns to action Thursday against NJIT.
