"What a season, said head coach Roy Kortmann. "I am so proud of this team. We battled all year long and I know we were all thrilled to be here playing on the biggest stage."
Prior to the Sharks' regional match up against Alabama on Friday night, sophomore pitcher Lindsey Cowans earned third-team All-Northeast Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Graduate student Camryn Lyman led the team with 52 hits and 36 runs.
"I have so much to be thankful for, said Lyman after the game. "I'm so grateful for this team and for coach Roy and the rest of the staff. I left it all out there."
