BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU women's tennis team honored five seniors on the final day of the regular season on Sunday. The Sharks then swept St. Francis Brooklyn, 7-0, to go unbeaten against conference opponents entering the NEC Tournament.
In a pre-match ceremony, LIU honored seniors
Bianca Compuesto,
Victoria Erechtchenko,
Kate Jorjoliani,
Elinor Storkaas and
Phoebe Watton.
Erechtchenko (first singles), Compuesto (fourth) and Jorjoliani (sixth) then joined
Leo Boisseau (second),
Saki Oyama (third) and
Marion Deloziere (fifth) in producing straight-set singles victories.
The Sharks then defeated Queens, 6-0, indoors on Sunday night to conclude the regular season. They now head into the NEC tourney next weekend at the Mercer County Tennis Center in Princeton Junction, N.J.
