MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. — The LIU softball team's strong play at The Spring Games continued Wednesday with a split against Southern Indiana.
The Sharks defeated Southern Indiana 5-0 in Game 1 and then fell in the second game, 5-3.
Lindsey Cowans tossed the four-hit shutout in the opener, while
Sam Garcia homered in both games and finished with a combined five RBIs.
Trailing 5-0 in Game 2, LIU received a three-run homer from Garcia in the fifth inning.
The Sharks continue play with games Friday against Bucknell at 11 a.m. and Lafayette at 4 p.m.
