WORCESTER, Mass. — The New York Islanders' ECHL affiliate continues to have an affinity for LIU men's hockey talent.
Adam Goodsir on Tuesday became the latest Shark to sign with the Worcester Railers, joining LIU alums
Billy Jerry and
Zack Bross.
Goodsir, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound forward from Okemos, Mich., tallied 15 goals and 19 assists in 35 games with LIU this past season.
He became the latest of a wave of signings for Sharks student-athletes since the season's completion on Saturday at Arizona State. A day earlier,
Anthony Vincent joined the AHL's San Jose Barracuda and
Vinnie Purpura and
Austin Rook signed with the ECHL's Adirondack Thunder.
Jerry, who played with LIU in 2021-22, has four goals and five assists in 35 games with Worcester after beginning the season with Adirondack.
Bross, who signed with Worcester a year ago after two seasons with the Sharks, has one goal and four assists in 27 games with the Sharks.
"We could not be more excited to watch Adam start his professional career," LIU coach
Brett Riley said. "Adam is a leader, warrior and winner. He helped to elevate this program in every way imaginable. He will leave the program with several records, including power play goals and longest point streak, and his leadership abilities and passion for the program were felt daily. We believe the best is still ahead for Adam and cannot wait to watch him in Worcester."
