ROCK HILL, S.C. — The LIU softball team got off to a quick start at the Winthrop Garnet & Gold Tournament, topping North Carolina Central for a second straight day on Saturday.
LIU defeated the Eagles, 6-1, on Saturday as
Camryn Lyman and
Mari Narvaiz each slugged two-run homers.
Alyssa O'Donnell earned the win with a complete game. She limited North Carolina Central to one run on two hits in seven innings.
Devon Medina scored twice for the Sharks.
LIU then fell to host Winthrop, 4-1, in Saturday's nightcap.
The Sharks conclude their staff in South Carolina with games against Fordham at 9:30 and Harvard at 11:30 on Sunday morning.
