Box Score NORTH EASTON, Mass. — The LIU football team had been bidding to close a second straight season under
Ron Cooper with a four-game winning streak.
Unfortunately for the Sharks, they were tripped up in the season finale at Stonehill, 40-23, on Saturday.
LIU completed the season 4-7 overall and 4-3 in the NEC — good for a four-way tie for second place.
On Saturday, the Sharks had taken a 23-21 lead on
Michael Coney's 22-yard field goal with 3 minutes, 15 seconds remaining in the third quarter. However, Stonehill closed the game with 17 unanswered points.
Owen Glascoe had 97 yards rushing and 33 yards receiving in the defeat.
Michael Thompson and
Eric O'Neill led the Sharks defensively with eight tackles apiece.
