LATHAM, N.Y. — The LIU women's tennis team opened the season's dual-match play with a resounding victory at Siena.
The Sharks defeated the Saints, 6-1.
After dropping the doubles point, LIU swept the singles matches as
Victoria Erechtchenko,
Leo Boisseau,
Bianca Compuesto,
Saki Oyama,
Elinor Storkaas and
Kate Jorjoliani all proved victorious.
Erechtchenko needed a 10-1 tiebreaker win at first singles after splitting the first two sets with Siena's Meagan Brown.
Erechtchenko's five teammates all won in straight sets.
The Sharks (1-0) next face Hofstra on Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. at Sportime Bethpage.
