CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Queen City treated LIU men's volleyball like kings on Wednesday night.
The Sharks took down Queens University of Charlotte in four sets (20-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-16) after dropping the first set of the match and moved to 2-0 in 2023.
The undefeated start extends the best start in program history.
Gustavo Cavalcanti once again led the offense with a 15-kill output on a .313 hitting percentage.
The Emmanuel College transfer has piled up 31 kills in the first two matches of the season.
Luke Chandler and
Livan Moreno were the next highest contributors on offense.
Chandler, a sophomore from Newport Beach, Calif., had 13 kills while Moreno finished with 10.

Luca Holanda reached 40 assists for just the fifth time in his career.
On the defensive side, the Sharks held the Royals to a .175 hitting percentage a night after holding Belmont Abbey to a .154 mark.
