BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The energy was palpable inside the Steinburg Wellness Center during the Battle of Brooklyn on Friday night.
LIU hosted St. Francis Brooklyn in its first Northeast Conference home match of 2022 and swept the Terriers 25-16, 25-20 and 25-19.
The Sharks trailed by two in the second set, but back-to-back service aces by
Anastasia Scott allowed them to regain the lead, 15-14, before eventually taking the set.
Rumur Rouille notched three blocks in the second set alone to spearhead the defense.
The third set ended on a
Barbora Hošková kill, her 14
th of the match.
Freshman outside hitter
Amaris Smith hit .563 on the evening, registering 11 kills in 16 swings.
LIU will continue its NEC schedule on October 7 at Stonehill.
