Box Score 2 NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The LIU softball team had two solid back-to-back performances over the hosting Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State on Saturday, taking the first two games of the series, winning 4-2 and then 5-0.
The first game of the series saw a two-run Sharks homer in the top of the sixth from
Angelina Reno to put LIU up 4-1 over their hosts, cementing their hold over the game.
To start the scoring off,
Ciara Granado scored
Camryn Lyman on a sacrifice fly, and the Sharks held onto their 1-0 lead until the top of the fourth when they doubled their advantage over the Blue Devils to 2-0.
The two CCSU runs came in the bottom of the fourth and bottom of the seventh, but their final inning rally wasn't enough to lift them over their opponents and LIU took game one 4-2.
From there on out it was Sharks in the driver's seat. In game two, the Sharks quickly took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, grabbed two more runs in the fifth, and tacked on their fifth and final run in the sixth, topping CCSU 5-0.
In game one,

After coming in to pitch the final inning of game one,
