- "I just feel like the league this year is definitely the best it's been in the five years I've been here," LIU head coach Derek Kellogg said. "To come and play a team like this on a road game is a tough contest. I felt like we had a lot of very good teams throughout the season. I was very proud of our team, how we battled back from a rough start in non-conference, and I thought we were playing our best basketball down the stretch here… I'm proud of the team. I love the guys that played for me this year. I feel like they set the tone for LIU basketball moving forward."
- Wagner took advantage of a rowdy home court early on, using a 20-4 run to go up, 22-8 on the Sharks. Though LIU never stopped fighting, that early difference proved costly.
- The Seahawks led, 47-31 at half time.
- LIU struggled from three-point range throughout the contest, making just 15.8 percent of their shots from long distance. The Sharks also shot a dismal 53.6 percent from the free throw line.
- Wagner had a balanced offensive attack, with three players in double digits, and six additional players contributing points.
- The Sharks were led by Ty Flowers' 24 points. The senior went 10-f0r-20 from the field, and had eight rebounds.
- Seniors Eral Penn and Isaac Kante added 15 points and 14 points, respectively. Kante matched Flowers for the team high with eight rebounds.
- Wagner will advance to the NEC championship game to take on top seeded Bryant Tuesday. LIU finishes the 2021-22 season with a 16-14 overall record.
