GENEVA, Ohio – The LIU women's swimming team is in fourth place after two days at the 2022 Northeast Conference championship meet. The Sharks had several medalists and scored nearly 100 points in the first full night of championship finals.
 
SHARK BITES

• LIU's efforts on the first night of individual events were led by senior Jacqueline Grabowski, who earned a silver medal in the 50 free. The senior swam a 23.42 in the night's finals, while teammate Venna Andersen came in sixth with a time of 23.87.
• Senior Ella Johnson came in seventh in the 500 free (5:03.55).
• In the consolation finals of the 200 IM, freshman Allie Bashor was the top finisher, coming in ninth overall with a time of 2:06.26. Her time was the third fastest of the day overall.
• Sophomore Rea Shehu also scored points for LIU in the 50 free consolation final, with a time of 24.26.
• The Sharks capped the night in the 200 medley relay, where the team of Shehu, Andersen, Sara Rodriguez Rubio and Grabowski came in fourth in 1:43.43.
• On night one, the 800 free relay team of Allison Naylor, Femke Backx, Maja Uduc and Johnson came in sixth, scoring 26 points with a time of 7:45.50.
• With 11 events tallied, LIU is in fourth place in the team standings, with 109 points.
• Prelims for Thursday's action start at 10 a.m.
