BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU women's basketball team had a huge home win Saturday, beating defending NEC champions Mount St. Mary's on Senior Day, 60-46. With the win, the Sharks move to 7-8 in Northeast Conference action, good for fifth place in the league standings with two weeks left in the regular season.

- Prior to the game, the program honored seniors Aislinn Flynn, Camille Gray, Kennedy Taylor, Brandy Thomas and Shyla Sanford, who played in their last regular season game in the Steinberg Wellness Center.
- The team also recognized the 20th anniversary of the 2000-01 LIU women's basketball team that won the NEC Championship with a ceremony at half time.
- Mount took an early 7-0 lead on the Sharks, but over the next four and a half minutes, the Sharks went on a 13-5 run. Five different players scored in the spree that put the home team up, 13-12 with 1:30 left to play in the first period.
- Though MSM tied it up 15-15 at the end of one, a layup from Kennedy Taylor put LIU back on top, 17-15, and the Sharks would not trail again.
- The game stayed relatively close until the 5:40 mark in the third period. Thomas made a driving layup that sparked a 12-0 run for the Sharks. LIU was a perfect 4-for-4 over the three-minute span, led by eight points from Thomas, in a run that would put the Sharks up, 41-25.
- Though Mount managed to outscore LIU in the fourth period, the deficit was too great to overcome, and LIU clinched the win, 60-46.
- Taylor led the Sharks with 13 points in the win, while Thomas added 12 points and five rebounds. Freshman Emaia O'Brien had 10 points and five rebounds, while senior Camille Gray pulled down 11 rebounds for LIU in the win. Senior Aislinn Flynn had a team-high three blocks for the Sharks.
- The Sharks cap the season with a three-game road swing, starting at Merrimack, Thursday, February 24 at 7 p.m.
