BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The second installment of the Battle of Brooklyn had plenty of fireworks to go around, especially a 29-27 first set.
In the end, the Sharks could not overcome the two-set deficit from St. Francis Brooklyn, falling in four sets, 29-27, 25-11, 22-25, 25-22.
There were multiple bright spots in the box score for LIU, especially on the defensive side.

Anastasia Scott continues to make her case for a third straight NEC Defensive Player of the Year honor. The reigning winner registered 29 digs.
She has collected 20 or more digs in 10 matches this season, with an average of 5.57 digs per set.
As a team, the Sharks totaled 67 digs, which is third-most in a match in 2022.
On the offensive side,
Allie Merz and
Sophie Young notched 25 and 20 assists, respectively, to balance the setting duties.
Barbora Hošková led the Sharks with 18 kills and a .222 hitting percentage.
Karolina Nova finished with 15 kills and nine digs.
Sitting at 10-10 and 5-3 in NEC play, LIU is back in action next Friday against Sacred Heart at 5 p.m. at Steinberg Wellness Center.
