Men's Hockey Ready for Home Cooking after Back-to-Back Games vs. Spartans

EAS LANSING, Mich. — After six straight road games to open the season, the LIU men's hockey team finally is headed home.

Adam Goodsir scored against his undergraduate alma mater and the Sharks also received a goal from Isaiah Fox for the second straight night. However, LIU fell to host Michigan State, 8-4, on Saturday at Munn Ice Arena to conclude their half-dozen road games to begin the season.

Riley Wallack and Spencer Cox also scored for LIU, which dropped back-to-back games to the Spartans this weekend.

Wallack, a freshman from South Surrey, B.C., tallied his first collegiate goal.

LIU (1-4-1) trailed 4-0 in the first period when Fox scored with 3 minutes, 48 seconds remaining before intermission to get the Sharks on the scoreboard.

Second-period goals from Wallack and Goodsir pulled LIU within 5-3.

The Spartans took a three-goal lead into the third period. Spencer Cox's goal 4:25 into the final period pulled the Sharks within 6-4.

LIU now looks forward to this season's home debut. The Sharks face Nebraska-Omaha on Friday at 7:45 p.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m. at Northwell Health Ice Center. Ticket information is available here.
