LIU Announces Addition of Rowing Programs

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Long Island University President Dr. Kimberly R. Cline, in conjunction with LIU Director of Athletics, Dr. William E. Martinov Jr., today announced the addition of Rowing to their athletics department, with recruitment commencing immediately, and competition scheduled to begin in 2022-23.

A national search for a head coach will begin immediately. Potential future student-athletes are encouraged to fill out this questionnaire (women's rowing), or this questionnaire (men's rowing) to connect with our athletic staff regarding opportunities to become a Shark.

"We are excited to be adding rowing to our Shark family," Martinov said. "We are looking forward to hiring an exceptional coaching staff to recruit and train some of the best and brightest new Sharks. Adding opportunities in a sport for both men and women here on the Gold Coast of Long Island seemed like a natural fit for our athletic department. We look forward to our continued pursuit of excellence both in the classroom and on the water!"

LIU is home to an exceptional Division I athletics program, fielding 34 athletics teams on two campuses. LIU's NCAA Division I program builds on a foundation of excellence and tradition. In LIU's history, its teams have combined for 23 national championships, 220 conference championships, and 379 All-Americans.
