SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After leading for most of the game Wednesday, the LIU women's lacrosse team saw their lead slip away in the final two minutes. The host Bryant Bulldogs tied the game up with 90 seconds left, and scored the game winner with 38 seconds to play, taking the win over the Sharks, 12-11.
The Bulldogs were playing with their backs against the wall, and needed to win to earn a spot in the Northeast Conference tournament. The Sharks, who finish the NEC season with a 7-4 record, had already clinched their spot in the playoffs, and are the No. 3 seed heading into next week's championship tournament.

Amanda Masullo and
Rachel Masullo led the Sharks with a combined seven of the team's 11 goals.

- LIU jumped out to a 3-1 lead after two quick goals from Rachel Masullo and one from Jamie Alvino.
- Bryant kept it close throughout the contest, as LIU would not lead by more than two goals until late in the game.
- The Bulldogs would tie it up, 3-3 and 4-4 in the first half, but the Sharks led, 6-5 at the break.
- Amanda Masullo and Elise Person would score unassisted goals to start the second half and widen LIU's lead to 8-5.

- Bryant would narrow the gap with a goal at 5:24 that made it 11-10.
- The Bulldogs would tie it up at 1:33 with an unassisted goal, before scoring the game-winner with 38 seconds left, 12-11.
- Keeper Hailey Duchnowski made seven saves in net.
- The Bryant keeper was a force, making 21 saves to keep her team in the game, as the Sharks outshot the Bulldogs, 32-19.
- Up next, the No.3 seeded LIU will head to No.2 seeded Wagner to take part in the NEC Semifinal game, Wednesday, May 5.
