CARLISLE, Pa. – The LIU women's swimming team finished the 2021 Northeast Conference championship meet in third place Thursday evening, the highest finish in program history. And the Sharks finished with an NEC champion to boot, along with a major award. Head coach Matthew Donovan and assistant coach Jackie Whitty were named the NEC's Coaching Staff of the Year, an honor they also won on the men's side.

Ella Johnson became the women's first champion this year, winning the 200 butterfly in 2:01.12, a full three seconds ahead of the next swimmer.

Aidan Condit also medaled for LIU, as she came in third in the 200 back (2:02.37). And LIU capped the meet with a third place finish in the 200 medley relay.
