Women’s Swimming Battles Blue Devils in Dual Meet

NEW BRITAIN, Conn.
– The LIU women's swimming team took on Central Connecticut State in a dual meet Saturday evening. The Sharks fell to the Blue Devils, 162-100.
 
Sophomore Aidan Condit won the 100 back with a time of 59.47, while freshman Venna Andersen won the 100 breast, in 1:06.01. Junior Ella Johnson also had a top finish, winning the 200 butterfly by nearly three seconds, with a time of 2:06.82. Another win for the Sharks came in the 100 butterfly, where Sara Rodriguez Rubio won with a time of 58.10.
 
Andersen also had a second place finish in the 100 free, while freshman Rea Shehu had second place finishes in the 50 free and 200 back. Sophomore Macie Madden and freshman Itzy Gonzalez Rojas went 2-3 in the 1000 free for additional Shark points.
 
Up next, the Sharks host St. Francis Brooklyn, Saturday, March 13 at 4 p.m.
