BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – LIU Athletics Director Dr. William E. Martinov Jr. announced Tuesday that Ryan Kelly has joined the Shark family as Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Administration.

Kelly comes to LIU from the American Athletic Conference, where he spent three years on the staff as the Director of Football Operations.

Prior to his time at the American, he served as the associate director of football operations at Baylor University from 2016-18. Kelly coordinated all aspects of the Bears' football program, including facilities and operations, and was the team's liaison with Baylor's grounds crew, equipment, media relations, academic and athletic training staff. He also assisted in the planning and coordination of all team travel, and was the Bears' liaison with NFL clubs.

Before joining the staff at Baylor, Kelly spent two seasons as the assistant director of football operations at Temple University, where he was involved in all day-to-day facets of the Owls' program. Temple won the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship and won a pair of American East Division titles in Kelly's tenure in Philadelphia.

Kelly also spent time as a recruiting assistant at Coastal Carolina University, and as the Coordinator of Athletic Recruiting at Anna Maria College in Massachusetts, where he also served as the football program's special teams coordinator.

Kelly graduated from Norwich University in 2011. He was a four-year letterwinner in football and baseball, and a member of the Cadets' 2009 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference championship team.
