BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Long Island University women's tennis team continued play in the Sunshine State but fell to Lynn University, 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Fighting Knights started the match strong, winning the doubles point. Sofiya Kuzina/Valentina Dancenco fell to Pogrebnyak/Grib, 1-6. Victoria Erechtchenko/Kate Jorjoliani fell to Irina/Pigato, 2-6. Elinor Storkaas/Bianca Compuesto were serving down 3-4 when the doubles point was clinched.
 
In singles, the Fighting Knights continued strong, clinching the match with three wins. Valentina Dancenco won her first set, 7-5, but her match was unfinished as she was down in the second set at 1-4. Sofiya Kuzina had a tough battle, splitting the match with Grib, in the third set, 6-4, 2-6, 1-2. Kate Jorjoliani split the set with Lapustina, 6-1, 6-7 (3).   
 
The Sharks closed out their trip in Florida today, and will take on Queens College in a nonconference matchup next Friday, March 20. Match time at the Queens College Tennis Center is set for 12:00 p.m.
