BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Long Island University men's basketball team has another tough task ahead of them Saturday afternoon, as they welcome perennial Northeast Conference contender Robert Morris to the Steinberg Wellness Center. The Sharks (10-10, 5-2 NEC) will take on the Colonials (9-11, 5-2 NEC) in a battle that begins at 4:30 p.m.

SHARK BITES
  • LIU is coming off a hard-fought win against Saint Francis U. in the Steinberg Wellness Center Thursday night, 86-81. The Sharks were led by a trio of players who all had 20+ point performances: senior Raiquan Clark, sophomore Jermaine Jackson Jr. and junior Ty Flowers. It was the first time in nearly a decade that LIU had three players score 20+ points in the same game.
  • Redshirt senior Raiquan Clark led LIU with 28 points, including going 9-for-13 from the free throw line. He also had 13 rebounds for his sixth double double of the season, along with three assists, two steals and a block.
  • Sophomore Jermaine Jackson Jr. had 24 points and a team-high seven assists in the win. 21 of his points came in the second half for the Sharks. He went 8-for-16 from the field, including five three pointers, and also had five rebounds.
  • Redshirt junior Ty Flowers had 21 points, six rebounds and three blocks for the Sharks, going 9-for-13 from the field.
  • Sophomore Virshon Cotton added nine points in the win.
  • Robert Morris is coming off of a tough first game in Brooklyn, as the Colonials fell to St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday night, 78-57. The Terriers shot 57.7 percent (15-for-26) from the field in the second half and 53.6 percent (30-for-56) overall to beat RMU.
  • This is the only time that RMU and LIU will meet this season, as the Sharks will not be making the return trip to Moon Township.
  • Robert Morris leads the all-time series with LIU, 46-32. Last year, the two teams split, with each squad winning on their home court. LIU won in Brooklyn, 80-73, before RMU exacted revenge on the trip to PA, beating LIU 62-49.
  • RMU is led by Josh Williams (14.3 ppg) and AJ Bramah (12.5 ppg).
  • Up next, the Sharks hit the road once ore, heading north to take on Merrimack, Saturday, February 1.
