BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Long Island University men's basketball team will round out the calendar year hosting Division III opponent Centenary at the Steinberg Wellness Center, Saturday, December 28 at 4:30 p.m. The game is the second of a doubleheader featuring the women's team, who will take on North Carolina Central at 2 p.m.
 
SHARK BITES
  • LIU (4-8) will be looking to bounce back from a pre-holiday loss, as the Sharks fell to Saint Peter's in a Dec. 22 afternoon matinee at the Barclays Center, 69-58.
  • All eight players that went in the game for LIU scored in the loss, led by senior Raiquan Clark's 18 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.
  • Senior Ashtyn Bradley added 11 points, including three three-pointers.
  • The Sharks shot just 33.3 percent from the field and from three-point range, while SPU was 46.6 percent from the field. Saint Peter's out-rebounded LIU, 49-28, scoring 42 of their points in the paint.
  • Centenary (5-5) comes to Brooklyn on a four-game winning streak, having not lost since November. The Cyclones are led by junior guard Chris LaBelle, who averages 23.6 points per game, and a team high 35 assists and 12 steals. LaBelle is one of four players averaging in double digits for Centenary.
  • Up next, the Sharks begin Northeast Conference play, as they will travel to Mount St. Mary's to take on the Mountaineers in a game that will air on CBS Sports Network, Saturday, January 4 at 2 p.m.
