BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Long Island University will welcome New York Islanders Co-Owner Jon Ledecky to campus as part of the University's Centennial CEO Speaker Series.

The event will take place on September 22 at 12:30 p.m. in Hillwood Commons. Admission is complimentary.

Ledecky will speak with LIU students about his career, leadership and the business of professional sports. Members of LIU's Division I men's and women's ice hockey teams will introduce Ledecky to the audience. The conversation will be moderated by LIU alumnus and ESPN personality Alan Hahn and will conclude with a student question-and-answer session.

The visit builds on the five-year strategic partnership between Long Island University, the New York Islanders and UBS Arena to support the continued growth and development of hockey throughout Long Island and New York City.

LIU is home to the region's only NCAA Division I men's and women's ice hockey programs. Northwell Health Ice Center, the official practice facility of the New York Islanders, serves as the home arena for both teams.

The partnership also includes the Empire State Holiday Invitational, an annual Division I men's ice hockey tournament at UBS Arena. LIU will host and compete in the inaugural tournament on December 28–29, 2026.

The Centennial CEO Speaker Series is part of Long Island University's yearlong celebration of its 100th anniversary and brings prominent business leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators to campus to engage with LIU students.
