ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Long Island University men's ice hockey team (10-12-1) shutout the University of Alaska Anchorage (3-18-1), 4-0, on Saturday night at Avis Alaska Sports Complex, earning its third straight win. Sophomore goaltender
Daniel Duris stopped all 32 shots faced, earning his second shutout win of the season.
LIU featured four different goal scorers throughout the night, as
Luca Leighton (8:37, first period),
Trent Powell (14:21, first period),
Noah Serdachny (PP, 11:16, second period), and
Dylan Kinch (:28, third period) each found the back of the net.
The Sharks held the Seawolves 0-for-5 on power play chances, won 34 of 59 faceoffs, and blocked 14 shots.
LIU returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at Alaska Anchorage, in the final game of a three-game series at UAA and the middle game of a five-game road trip to Alaska. Puck drop is scheduled for 11 p.m. eastern.
