Sharks Score Season-High 3 Goals in Win Over Saint Francis

Kaylie Govoni, Grace Hennig & Monica Viveros all scored in 3-2 win

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — LIU defeated Saint Francis on Thursday afternoon, scoring three goals for the first time this season in a 3-2 win.

The Sharks clawed their way back from a 2-0 deficit, with Kaylie Govoni scoring LIU's first goal at the 31:42 mark. Grace Hennig then scored her team-leading third goal of the campaign to help her team tie the score before the first half came to a close.

Later in the second half, Monica Viveros scored the go-ahead goal off an assist from this week's NEC Rookie of the Week, Brooklyn Menard, to give LIU a lead they'd hold on to the rest of the way. The team is now 4-2-3 this season.

Goalkeeper Keely Thomas also had a season-high seven saves for the Sharks, who will take the field once again on Thursday, Oct. 2, hosting Stonehill at 12 p.m.
