BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — LIU women's soccer maintains its undefeated NEC record following a 2-1 win over Stonehill on Thursday afternoon.
Improving to 3-0-1 in conference play, the Sharks received a number of positive contributions across the board in this one. A penalty kick goal by
Betty Hall helped LIU tie the game at 1-1 before the first half came to a close.
Casey Beauregard put the hero cape later in the second half, scoring the go-ahead goal (her first of the season) off an assist from
Izzy Stein -- at the 74:10 mark -- to give the Sharks the permanent lead.
Goalkeeper
Keely Thomas was kept busy, but came up with a season-high ten saves to hold the opponent in check throughout.
In addition to their undefeated conference record thus far, LIU has now matched its wins total from last season, improving to 5-2-3 in 2025.
The Sharks will return to the field on Sunday, Oct. 5, visiting Chicago State at 2 p.m.
